Looks like I'm joining Dave Bova's guitar trio. We had our first rehearsal last night and had a lot of fun.

Lolo Lovina have a new member - James Tawadros on percussion. The talent of the musicians I get to play with in this band is phenomenal. Very exciting stuff...

Lolo Lovina and Tapestries of Sound are planning recordings which will take place over the next few months. They should be released later this year.

Videos from Bellingen Global Carnival have been added to the Lolo Lovina page. One video documents an excerpt of a rehearsal of 'Bubumara', the other is part of a live performance of 'Tropnalo Oro'.

Photos of a recent performance have been added to the Lolo Lovina page. Lolo Lovina, the Bulyani Brothers and Monsieur Camembert all played, and joined together onstage for the encore.

Leonid Beshlei, accordion/sax player for Lolo Lovina has added a video showing excerpts of a Lolo gig to his myspace page. It can be found here. I assure you that there was more to my solo in 'Caravan' than just strumming chords! You'll have to take my word for it...

Lately I have been busy with gigs, teaching, recordings and festival applications. I just completed an EP recording with Justin Buckingham at Shadowsounds Studios. It features Justin on alto sax, Pete Edmunds on bass, Steele Turkington on drums, and yours truly on guitar. I'll add a link when the recording is available.

I also recorded a rough demo with Stone Mojo (pictured below), an instrumental folk/metal project I'm working on with bassplayer Ty Wood and drummer Paul Derricott. As it is only a rough demo I'm only using it for festval applications at present. It's interesting to record something at such an early stage in a group's formation - I learned which tunes were appropriate and which ones were not. So I have to write a whole heap of new tunes now that I've ditched those others...

Recordings are also lined up with Musique and Aethenoth at Shadowsounds for the near future.

And no comment in the News section would be complete without a new myspace link, would it? Here's the link to Stone Mojo's myspace page. It's doesn't have any recordings yet, but they will come in time...

I’m playing gigs again after a couple of years off, which is very exciting. A gigs page will soon be added to the site, but for now you will have to view my myspace page to find out when I’m playing. I’ve mostly been playing with two new groups; Aethenoth and Lolo Lovina, as well as with old favourites, Tapestries of Sound.

I also have a new instrumental project I’m currently working on with drummer Paul Derricott, which should be performing within the next few months.

I’ve formed a group with flautist/pianist Marc Chen and harpsichordist/bassist Chris Berensen, with the intention of playing weddings and corporate gigs.
